Activity Professionals of Ontario (APO) annually presents two bursaries to students enrolled in recreation or gerontology programs.

Each bursary is for $100.00, and a single application (below) will qualify a student who is interested in the field of recreation or gerontology for consideration for either of these awards:

• The Anne Schell Bursary
• The Joe Rivard Bursary

Both bursaries are named for individuals who were key members in the early days of APO and recognize their contribution both to the organization and the profession itself.  Further information is also available in the bursary directory at education institutions' student financial services. The deadline for receipt of the application is March 15 of each year.

• One award of $100.00 (one hundred dollars)
• Application deadline: March 15 of any given year

The application window for 2015 has closed. Bursary applications received prior to the deadline are currently being reviewed. The successful applicants will be notified. Any applications submitted from April 1, 2015 onwards will be considered for the 2016 bursaries.
